Amir Ali Razaghi was born in 1979 in Tehran, Iran. At the age of 12, he began studying piano with Emanuel Melik-Aslanian and Mohsen Kouhestani, while simultaneously learning music theory and solfège under the guidance of Sharif Lotfi. Three years later, he started composition studies with the renowned Iranian composer Ahmad Pejman. His studies with Pejman continued until 1997, when he entered the Faculty of Music at the University of Art in Tehran.
Amir earned his Bachelor of Music degree in 2002 and went on to complete a Master of Music in Composition in 2007. Throughout his musical journey, he also had the privilege of studying composition with distinguished composers Taleb Khan Shahidi and Khayam Mirzazadeh.
Amir began his professional career as a composer for the National Iranian Television, where he contributed music for numerous films and television productions. His collaboration with Iranian National Television has remained strong over the years, as he continues to compose for a variety of film and television projects.
In addition to his work as a composer, Amir has been an active member of the Theatre Center of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. He also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Art in Tehran and the University of Art and Culture in Isfahan before relocating to Canada.
Amir Ali Razaghi currently resides in Toronto, Canada, where he continues his work as a composer, educator, and musician.
