Sepand Yekrang Safakar is an experienced pianist and dedicated music educator who is passionate about inspiring students of all ages to discover the joy and depth of music. He began his musical journey at the age of seven, guided and inspired by his father, a music analyst whose deep understanding of music played an important role in shaping Sepand’s early artistic development and lasting passion for piano performance.
Sepand studied piano as well as music theory, harmony, and counterpoint under the guidance of Sohrab Mehrabi, developing a strong foundation in both practical musicianship and theoretical knowledge. He has also studied piano with Sepehr Ghazi and has participated in advanced masterclasses in music theory and composition.
As a performer, Sepand has appeared in numerous recitals as a solo classical pianist and collaborative artist, working alongside vocalists and instrumentalists in duet and ensemble performances. He has also worked as a collaborative pianist and accompanist, including performing in a Melorin Choir concert.
With several years of teaching experience in both Iran and Canada, Sepand has taught in private studios as well as respected music academies such as Rang Music Academy and Golshan Music Academy. He has worked with children, teenagers, and adult students, helping them build strong technical and theoretical foundations while developing confidence and musical expression.
Sepand’s teaching philosophy combines technique, music theory, ear training, and creativity. He believes that music education should be both structured and inspiring—helping students not only play beautifully but also understand and truly feel the language of music.
